Farmer: What is credit?
Informer: Credit is money that a financial service provider will allow a person or a business to use and then pay back in the future with interest. “Interest” is the amount paid as a fee for use of the money. Interest rate is the amount of interest due per period, as a percentage of the amount lent. Remember to be responsible about using credit so that interest does not become debt for you.
Farmer: So why would I want to get credit? How could it help me?
Informer: Here are the advantages of credit:
- Credit can help expand business activity for generating more profit and ultimately improve your living standard
- Credit can allow a borrower to purchase high value assets such as cars or houses without having all money in full amount. So even if you don’t have all the money right now, you could use credit to help you purchase that asset and then pay it back later with a small amount of interest.
- Credit can be used for emergency needs such as paying medical expenses and other urgent or unexpected needs.
